TLC Classic and Antique Vehicle Appraisal
Sales Tax
When purchasing a vehicle that is over 20 years old a Ministry of Finance Sales Tax Valuation Appraisal is required.
This must be completed prior to changing the ownership into the purchasers name.
If you have just purchased a restoration project, the time to change the ownership is NOW, waiting until the vehicle is completely restored will cost you more in sales tax.
The tax is paid on the value of the vehicle on the date of inspection NOT your original purchase price.
TLC Appraisal is registered by the Ministry of Finance to perform provincial retail sales tax valuation appraisals.
